These continue to be great days for Christ Community Church Houston. We wanted to give you a few updates in preparation for our Members Meeting on Sunday evening, May 20th. Please note these matters and bring them in prayer before the Lord as we seek to serve Him with dedication and efficiency.

  • We are delighted to announce that beginning in June our Student Ministries will be led by both Richmond Howard (Middle School) and Quinn Baskin (High School).  We are so thankful for Richmond and McKenzie and all they bring to our Student Ministries, and are excited to have Quinn on board as the ministry continues to grow.
  • Additionally, Quinn will assume responsibilities for the oversight of our ministry facilities. We are thankful for his willingness to take these important tasks off the desks of our pastoral staff (Seth, primarily!).  Pray for Quinn and Stephanie as they transition onto our staff.
  • After significant and frustrating delays, we are confidently moving forward with our Shed Project for Student Ministries and other ministry needs. We hope to share a thorough update at the Members Meeting.
  • In the next couple of weeks all members will receive a digital copy of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2018-19. C3Houston guests can obtain physical copies at the Connections Desk. Please review it, and if you’ve questions or suggestions submit them to one of the elder team, or join us for Q&A forums on any of the following Sunday mornings: May 6th, 13th, and 20th at 10.45 in the Conference Room of the C3Houston ministry offices.
  • If you’ve not considered our Summer Missions Trip to Vermont, would you stop a moment and do so? I can’t overstate how much we value this work of church-planting in New England; this week’s efforts will be not only refreshing for all who go, but perhaps life-changing. Check it out here
  • Mark your calendars for Wednesday nights in July for our 2nd annual SummerFest celebrations. Note we begin this year with a church-wide fellowship on the Fourth of July, including a Barbecue Throwdown with competing Community Groups.
  • Over the past several years the Elder Council has considered a sabbatical for me (Michael). Typically pastoral sabbaticals represent three-month absences focussing on rest and rejuvenation. For various reasons I have resisted that option; but have asked the elders for a 5 week leave each summer for the next few years.  They have agreed, and so Christy and I will be away beginning the end of May and through all of June. Pray that we will have a profitable time away and look forward to being served well from the pulpit as the James teaching series continues in my absence.
